Bloom Guam

If you've ever needed a beautiful mwar mwar, lei, or floral arrangement for a special occasion, Bloom Guam should be your go-to. This locally owned floral business has become a favorite for many on Guam, creating beautiful pieces that showcase the beauty of our island and culture. Bloom Guam was founded in 2022 by Malesso native Carmela Tyquiengco. While this isn't her first small business venture, she's previously owned businesses specializing in jewelry and even shaved ice, it seems she's found her calling with flowers. Since opening Bloom Guam, she has built a loyal following and has become one of the island's most sought-after floral artists for leis and mwar mwars.

Although Bloom Guam is best known for its gorgeous mwar mwars and leis, Carmela also creates wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, and custom floral arrangements for all kinds of celebrations. I've personally ordered several pieces from her over the years, including leis for graduations, a bouquet for my brother's wedding, and a beautiful mwar mwar for my daughter's First Holy Communion. Every arrangement is thoughtfully crafted and always feels extra special.

One thing that sets Bloom Guam apart is Carmela's commitment to using fresh local flowers whenever possible, many of which she grows herself. Her love for Guam, CHamoru culture, and supporting local businesses shines through in every piece she creates and throughout her Instgarm page. In addition to creating floral arrangements, Carmela also hosts many floral workshops throughout the year, especially during Mes CHamoru. These workshops give the community an opportunity to learn about local flowers and create their own arrangements.

Because of the quality and care she puts into her work, Bloom Guam stays busy year-round. If you're planning for a graduation, prom, wedding, or other special event, it's a good idea to place your order at least a month in advance. That said, if you're lucky, she can sometimes accommodate last-minute orders. And for those who don't have time to pre-order, there's good news! Bloom Guam now stocks select pieces at Two Lovers Point Gift Shop and Pution Place, another new locally owned small business in Tumon. So, if you're looking for a beautiful floral piece on short notice, you just might be able to pick one up there.

Bloom Guam is a wonderful example of a local business that combines creativity, culture, community, and love. It's easy to see why so many people continue to support Bloom Guam.
